Benton, AR, 1930 - 2019

Jessie Franklin "Frank" Williams Jr., KB5TTX, 89, of Benton, Arkansas passed away July 23, 2019. He was born March 25, 1930 in Lee County, Arkansas. His parents were the late Jessie Williams & Nora Cox Williams Bonds of Marianna.
He retired from the Arkansas Army National Guard with the rank of Sergeant Major, he served continuously from July 25, 1947 until March 25, 1990. Frank retired from the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department in September 1982. He was a Charter member and a past President of the Statewide Association of Retired Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department Employees. He was a member of Chicot Road Baptist Church.
Frank is preceded in death by his daughter, Gayla Williams-Drown; great-granddaughter, Taylor Purvis; his parents; four brothers; and two sisters. Frank is survived by his wife of 65 years, Wanda Williams; two sons: Alan Williams (Brenda) of Little Rock, and Jeff Williams (Robyn) of Benton; three grandsons: Luke Williams (Melissa) of Bryant, Shane Purvis of Haskell, and Matthew Williams (Kim) of Jacksonville; two granddaughters: Jennifer Harris (Keith) of Benton and Courtney Williams of Benton; three great-grandsons: Jackson Purvis, Alex Williams, and Titus Williams; many nieces and nephews, family members and friends who will miss him always.
Visitation held 5-7 p.m., Friday, July 26, at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market Street, Benton, Arkansas. Funeral service held Saturday, July 27, at 10 a.m. at Smith-Benton Funeral Home with burial following at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Services entrusted to Smith-Benton Funeral Home. Guestbook:
