Mary Ellen Newman Kagebein, 90, of Almyra, passed away July 25. She was born May 15, 1929 to John Hallie and Jenna Lee Newman of Crocketts Bluff, Ark. She married the love of her life, Jack Kagebein, in 1945 and they raised five children, Ronnie, Lonnie, Kyla, Sharon, and Vicky. She was a member of Almyra 1st United Methodist Church and worked for many years at Crestpark of Stuttgart. She loved pretty flowers, working in the yard with Mr. Jack, and spent many of her later years crocheting blankets, scarves and knickknacks for and all she could share them with.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Rosie Lee, husband Jack, and son Ronnie. Donations may be made to Almyra Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 167, Almyra, Ark. 72003. Graveside services will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday, July 26 at Almyra Cemetery, Almyra, Ark. www.essexfuneralhome.com.
