David Byron McCarver

David Byron McCarver, 68, died July 29, 2019 surrounded by friends and family at MCA hospital in Arlington, TX after suffering a stroke. David was born on November 6, 1950 in Searcy, Ark. to Oran Hughes McCarver and Elizabeth Taylor McCarver. He was raised in Pine Bluff, Ark. where he graduated high school in 1969 before attending the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Upon receiving his BS in Civil Engineering and marrying Sarah Ann Dawson, he eventually moved to Arlington, Texas in 1977. David and Sarah raised three children and served at First Baptist Church of Arlington, teaching 25 years in the 6th grade Sunday school class. David is survived by his wife, Sarah, sister Beth Joslin of White Hall, Ark., and three children, Chris, Lance, and Annie as well as seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oran and Elizabeth. Arrangements are with Wade Funeral Home in Arlington, Texas. Visitation will be at the FBC Arlington Children's Building from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on July 31st, and the Memorial Service will be at FBC Arlington on August 1st at 10 a.m. Memorial donations can be made to the FBC Arlington Children's Ministry.
