Lucretia "Lu" Ann Brinneman Byrnes, 78, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, passed away May 28, 2019. She was born November 23, 1940 in Woodruff County, Arkansas. Lu was George's hero as well as being the glue that kept the family strong. She was a tremendous bridge player, amazing cook, and often volunteered her time to numerous non-profit organizations. Lu was loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Lu was preceded in death by her loving papa, Charles Ammon Brinneman; and aunts, Hazel and Gladys "Mimi", who raised her. Survivors include her loving husband of 57 years, George Byrnes; son, Steve Byrnes (Grace) of Kentucky; daughters, Suzanne Hollenbeck (Todd) of Tennessee, Debbie Tolany (Brandon); and six grandchildren. Services were held 2 p.m. Saturday, June 1 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Bill Elser officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, 600 SW 11th Avenue, Amarillo, Texas 79101-3228 or Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 295 Balearic Road, Hot Springs Village, Ark. 71909.
