Frederick Lee Cooper, 83, of Halley, Arkansas passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospice in Little Rock, Arkansas. Fred was born April 28, 1936 in Hampton, Ark. to the late Homer Lee Cooper and Marjorie Blann Cooper. He was a 1955 graduate of McGehee High School. Fred served in the United States Army as a Para Trooper 82nd Air Borne. He was a longtime employee for Yellow Bend Grain Elevator. Fred was a volunteer for Halley Volunteer Fire Department. He was a jack of all trades. Fred was always busy and loved to hunt. He enjoyed helping others. Fred made a profession of faith at a young age and was an active member of Halley Baptist Church for many years. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Linda Burchfield. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Mary Lewis Cooper; sons, Walter Cooper of Halley, Ark. and J.D. Cooper of Halley, Ark.; daughter, Lora Medina of Halley, Ark.; brother, Arnold Cooper of Orange, Calif.; sister, Shirley Burchfield of Midway, Texas; grandchildren, Allison (Allen) Dunn, Victoria Medina (Brian Bauer), Kyle Cooper and Tiffany Cooper; great-grandchildren, Kaylee Dunn, Chason Dunn, Olivia Bauer, Kaitlyn Bauer and Colton Bauer; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at 5-7 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, Ark. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Halley Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Gregory officiating. Burial will be at Halley Cemetery.
