Marion Elizabeth McConnell

Marion Elizabeth McConnell, 90, of Hot Springs Village, Ark., passed away May 2, 2019 at a local hospital in Hot Springs. She was born in Minneapolis, Minn. on August 11, 1928 to Joseph D. and Zita Catherine O'Connor. She is predeceased in death by her parents, her husband, John B. McConnell, her brother, Phillip J. O'Connor and her daughter Martha Anne McConnell. Survivors include: her two younger sisters, Virginia and Kathleen O'Connor of Chicago, Ill.; two sons, Michael John McConnell and his wife Vicki of Arlington, Texas and Kevin Patrick McConnell and his wife Angeline of Lumberton, N.J.; two daughters, Kathleen Kerry McConnell and Kristin Marie McConnell both of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; three grandchildren, Erin Marie Martino and her husband Joseph of Denton, Texas, Jonathan Corey McConnell and his wife Terell of Westminster, Colo. and Connor Patrick McConnell of Lumberton, N.J.; six great-grandchildren, Jonathan Tannon Martino, Declan Mac Martino, Eli Joseph Martino, Evan Price Martino all of Denton Texas, and Sloane Harper McConnell and Rooney Elin McConnell of Westminster CO; several nieces and nephews and their children. Marion was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. She possessed a wonderful work ethic, even continuing to work part time after she and John retired in HSV in 1995 all the way up to 2010 when Marion "officially" retired! She enjoyed the good friends she made along the way at Village Travel/Vacation Valet. Marion fiercely loved her family and especially enjoyed her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was always quick with a smile, a laugh, a kind word and she enjoyed a good conversation. She had varied interests including traveling, reading, and attending musical programs and plays. A funeral Mass and reception afterward will be held on Saturday, June 15 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Rosary will start at 10:30 a.m. with Mass at 11 a.m., followed by the reception. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice in Marion's name. Arrangements by Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.
