Mary Ellen Brown

MARY ELLEN BROWN, 90, of Maumelle, Ark., died Thursday, June 6, 2019. She was born on April 23, 1929 in Salina, Kansas to Guy and Elizabeth Shamburg. Mary married Keith Brown on August 20, 1949. They both worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company (AT&T) for over 30 years. They lived, worked and raised their family in Kansas but upon retirement they built a home on Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri and spent many years traveling throughout the U.S. in their RV. They made their home in Beaumont, Texas at the conclusion of their travels. Keith died on February 2, 2004. In 2014 Mary moved to Maumelle to be closer to her daughter. Besides traveling, Mary's interests included sewing, crafting, and cooking. She was spunky and funny. Her quick wit and good sense of humor could always make people laugh. Mary is survived by her daughter Roe Swetman, grandson Sheldon Swetman (Ariel); great-grandsons Landon, Logan, Jaxton, and Caiden Swetman; sister Margie Walker, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Keith, and son Scott. A visitation will be held at Ruebel Funeral Home, (6313 W.
