Brander Mavrick Smith, 14, of Rose Bud, Ark. went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 13, 2019 while doing what he loved at Smith Arena, with a rope in his hand. He was practicing for his upcoming National Finals in Huron, South Dakota and Guthrie, Okla. He had determination to win a National Championship title but instead he won something greater, his wings! Brander touched many lives and will be missed but never forgotten. He was born on December 16, 2004 in Searcy, Ark. Brander had a heart of gold; he was always concerned for others. Brander loved Jesus and attended Crossroads Cowboy Church. He was a member of many rodeo associations, including ATRA, AJHRA, and CALBRA. When he wasn't in the rodeo arena, you could find him hunting, playing basketball, or spending time with family and friends. Brander is survived by his parents, Bo and Danielle Smith and sister, Lariette Smith, grandparents, Preston and Sheila Smith, Uncle Chris (Nesha) Smith all of Rose Bud; Aunt Melanie (Robert) Clayton of Harrison, MI; and Uncle Ritchie (Autumn) Smith of Drasco, Ark. He is also survived by cousins, Alex (Victoria) Jenkins, Jalyn Smith, Owen Clayton, Easton Smith, Jessica (Cameran), Chloe, Chase Evans, Nicole (Kevin), Kamren, Landon Bryan and several great uncles , great aunts, cousins and friends. Brander is preceded in death by grandparents Ronnie and Betty Smith of Rose Bud. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at Smith Arena in Rose Bud. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2019 at Crossroads Cowboy Church in El Paso, Ark. under the direction of Roller-Daniel Funeral Home.
