Ronald Ward Curry
Ronald Ward Curry, age 90, of Fayetteville passed Friday June 14, 2019 in Fayetteville. He was born April 26, 1929 in Fayetteville the son of Garlen and Eutha Weir Curry. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Steven Curry.
Ronald was born and lived his entire life in Fayetteville, except for his time in the Navy. Ronald is a direct lineal descendant of James E. Curry, a Sargent in the Illinois infantry during the civil war. While fighting in this area James loved how beautiful it was and moved his family to Fayetteville after the War. Ronald grew up in the Mount Comfort Presbyterian congregation with the 10 children of Earl and Rachel Mae Weir, his grandparents. He graduated from Peabody High School at the University of Arkansas and was the class president. He owned and operated Curry's Radio & T.V. Service for over 35 years. He had an unparalleled reputation for service and integrity. In his retirement he regularly communicated with his large extended family and was considered the family patriarch by all.
He is survived by his wife Mary Adams Curry; five sons, Brice Curry of Fayetteville, Garlen Curry of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Craig Curry of Austin, Texas, Kevin Curry of Rhinebeck, New York and Ron Curry of Fayetteville; a sister Gayle Bader of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday June 17, 2019 at Moore's Chapel. Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the First United Presbyterian Church with burial to follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
