Dorothy Almyra Van Kirk

Dorothy Almyra Van Kirk, age 97, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2019. She was born on March 24, 1922, in Coeur D' Alene, Idaho, to Paul Alfred and Jewel (Olmstead) Donart. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years Fred Van Kirk; sister, Marion Anderson; and brother, Jack Donart. During World War II, Dorothy worked as a secretary for the Federal government in Washington, D.C., and at the Boeing airplane factory in Seattle, Wash. She was a homemaker in Idaho, Colorado, and California. She is survived by her two children, Donna Van Kirk and husband David Stahle of Fayetteville, Ark., and David Van Kirk and wife Marcia of Lynden, Wash.; eight grandchildren, Lisa Porterfield, Kristi Gwane, Paul Van Kirk, Aaron Van Kirk, Laura Stahle, Daniel Stahle, Chris Rothwell, and Shannon Werner; fourteen great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and favorite niece, Karen McPike.
