River "Oakley" Nimmo, age 5, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2019 after an extensive battle with Neuroblastoma. Oakley was born May 6, 2014 to his parents, Colton and Shelby Nimmo. A sweet, brave boy, Oakley was known by his family and friends to be feisty, courageous, smart, and full of life. Oakley spent most of this life fighting to live and did it with a smile on his face. In between hospital stays, Oakley spent his free time driving his power wheels and shooting his toy guns. He often talked of being an "Army Man", as he called it, when he grew up. Oakley is survived by his parents, Colton and Shelby Nimmo; brother Bear Nimmo, all of Camden, Ark.; grandparents, Kenny and Penny Nimmo of Arlington, Texas; and Charlie and Cindy Dickey of Camden, Ark.; great-grandparents, Bertha Bench of Mineral Wells, Texas; Billie Jo Selph of Sparkman, Ark.; and numerous extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his special friend Lillian Aubrey Johnson. A service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Cullendale First Baptist Church in Camden, Ark. with burial afterwards at Furr Cemetery in Locust Bayou, Ark. Brother David Dillard will officiate the service. The family requests anyone that is serving or has served in the any branch of the United States Military to attend in uniform in honor of Oakley's dream to serve his country.
