Raymond Harold Brown, 89, of Warren, Arkansas died peacefully at his home on Friday, June 21st, 2019. He was born in Bryant, Arkansas on August 20th, 1929, the youngest of eight children born to John and Burlie Brown. He was an outfielder for the Arkansas State Teachers College baseball team. He was on the 1948, 1949, and 1950 teams, with the 1949 team being the AIC Champions. He also played baseball for the Bryant Rebels, Central Arkansas League Champions in 1950. After receiving his undergraduate degree at Arkansas State Teachers College, he received his Master's degree from Peabody in Nashville, Tennessee. He served in the 36th Combat Engineers, Headquarters Company during the Korean War. He taught at Mabelvale High School before becoming a High School Principal in Carlisle, Arkansas. He was principal from the Fall of 1966 until the Spring of 1991. Raymond was a lifelong Methodist and taught the Ruth Brayman Sunday School Class at Carlisle First Methodist Church. He was the Lions Club Citizen of the Year for Carlisle, Arkansas for 1990-1991. After retiring he moved to Warren, Arkansas. He is survived by his wife of 63 years: Doris; two children: Dr. Hal (Pam) Brown of Warren, and Lori Brown of Warren; two grandchildren: Trey (Brittany) Brown of Rogers, and Dr. Leanne (Jordan) Anthony of Hot Springs; and one great-grandchild: Emmie Kate Brown. He is preceded in death by his siblings: Hiram Brown, Violette Johnson, Edna McMoran, Wesley Brown, Doris Weise, Dorothy Williams and Willene Deaton. Pallbearers will be Trey Brown, Jordan Anthony, Phil Guthrie, David Weise, Ray Glover, and John Deaton. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 26th, 2019 at 11 a.m., with a service following at noon, both at Pinecrest Funeral Home (7401 HWY 5 North, Alexander, Ark.). Raymond will be laid to rest after the service at Pinecrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, Raymond requested that donation be mailed to Carlisle High School Alumni Association: P.O.
