Adolph Eugene Toney, age 88, of Bismarck, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2019. He was born on March 20, 1931 in St. Francis, Arkansas, the son of the late James Toney and Pearl Johnson Toney. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy. He climbed the ranks through his years of service, retiring as Boiler Technician Master Chief Petty Officer E-9. He was honorably discharged in 1972 with too many commendations to mention. Renowned as the community handyman, Adolph was known for his servant's heart, always helping others. When he wasn't fixing something for a neighbor, you could find him in the woods or on the water. An avid outdoorsmen, he was a threat to fur, feather, and fin. His family still carries that proud heritage of outdoor conservation. A Christian in faith, he was a founding member of First Southern Baptist Church of Bismarck. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. He is preceded in death by both of his parents; his loving wife of 62 years, Lillian "Lil" Beaty Toney; and two sisters, Maxine Schultz and Jackie Toney. Left to cherish his legacy of sacrifice and service are two daughters, Rebecca Adams and Angela Ward; seven grandchildren, Toney Livingston (Sandy), Phillip Livingston (Cassie), Preston Adams, Koren Chandler (Shane), Steven Ward, Kayla Ward, and Butch Ward; ten great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and anyone that loved or was loved by him. Adolph's celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June, 26, 2019 at First Southern Baptist Church, 6584 AR-7, Bismarck, Arkansas 71929. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Interment will immediately follow at First Southern Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors executed by the United States Naval Honor Guard.
