Josie Wet Padgett

Josie West Padgett, 99, passed away June 27, 2019. She was born February 5, 1920 in St. Charles to Charlie and Maggie Nikirk West. Josie loved her church family and loved cooking for and feeding her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 63 years William "Willie" Padgett, two sons Larry and Charles "Pete" Padgett, brothers Jessie, Clarence, Gentry, Opal, J.C. Earl, Odis, Homer West, and two sisters Laveda Criswell and Emmie Dickson. She is survived by her sons William Harold Padgett (Patti), Kenneth Padgett (Carroll) and Bobby Padgett (Janet Milligan) all of Ethel, grandchildren Lori Snyder (Danny), Gary Padgett (Meagan), Heather Padgett, Amy Randall (Aaron Lee), Kelly Padgett (Stephanie), Dana Padgett (Beth), Margaret Bagley (Wayne), Steve Padgett (Melissa), and Troy Padgett (Rene), 14 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 1 p.m. June 29 at Belleview Missionary Baptist Church with funeral services beginning at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery by Essex Funeral Home.
