Martha "Lee" McConnell

Fayetteville, AR, 1939 - 2019

Martha "Lee" McConnell, age 79, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 25, 2019. She was born on November 12, 1939, in Nowata, Oklahoma, to Arthur Lee and Anabel (Graves) Turner. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George McConnell; and her sister, Helen Jo Baldwin.
Lee retired from a long career with Southwestern Bell Telephone after many years of service. She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She served for many years within the children's ministry at Fellowship Bible Church where her love for children was shared. She helped prepare the Operation Christmas Child boxes each year. She also participated in many Bible studies though the years that kept her involved with her special social circles. She spent many years volunteering as an election monitor. Most of all, her love was for her family and her grandchildren where she could be found making a spectacle at their sports games.
She is survived by her four children, Malinda Lee Cunningham and husband Jim of Russellville, Jerry Myers and wife Tonya of Farmington, Nancy Hicks and husband Mark of Greensboro, North Carolina, and Pam Stanley and husband Rob of Fayetteville; her sister, Nan Glynn; her brother, Steve Turner; her eight grandchildren, Justin Snopko and wife Alex, Garrett Myers, Alex Waits and husband Ryan, Matthew Hicks and wife Lauren, Andrew Hicks and wife Mary, Lauren Honaker and husband Matt, Reese Stanley and wife Devin, and Chafer Stanley; eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2019, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville. There will be a private family interment.
