Dudda Marie James Sanders
Dudda Marie James Sanders passed peacefully into Heaven to join her beloved husband of 50 years, J. R. Sanders, on Thursday, June 27, 2019.
She was born in Batesville, Arkansas on October 4, 1939, and grew up living on Bates Street, a few blocks from Landers Movie Theater, owned and operated by her family.
Dudda graduated from Batesville High School, and attended Arkansas College (Lyons) on a music scholarship
She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Main Street, Batesville, Arkansas.
She and her husband ushered four children into the world beginning in 1960, and continuing until 1977.
Dudda was a colorful, warm hearted friend and mother figure to many.
She is survived by her daughters; Lauralee Neldon (Don), Marcia Dunbar (Sean), Ann Smith (Adam) and a son, Joe Ray Sanders. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Valerie Harcrow, Marla Coomes, Lance Dunbar, Katlyn Dunbar, Stormy Ray Smith, and Harley Smith.
"Grandmama" is also survived by eight great grandchildren and two great great children.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, July 1, 2019 at St. James United Methodist Church, 321 Pleasant Valley Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas, 72212.
At the family's request, please wear bright colors to the service.
