Brother Emanuel Washington was born on March 21, 1936, to Theodore (Buddy) and Agnis Dodson Washington in Carlisle, Arkansas. In 1939, the Lord called Agnis home. In 1944, Theodore met and married Vivian Smith, which made the family whole again. He grew up on a farm. He heard the call of the open road and began driving trucks. He was employed by D and S Seed of Carlisle and drove all over the country. After retiring from the road, he opened Washington Car Wash and Detail Shop in Carlisle. He met the love of his life Jennett Curlett, they married on June 25, 1967 one son was born to this union. He was a faithful member of Mount Zion Baptist Church serving as an usher and a custodian. Preceded in death by his parents, wife, Jennett Washington, daughter, Miranda Washington, siste, Vicky Thomas, brother, Pastor Oscar Washington Sr. He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Travis (Angela) Washington of Little Rock, Theodore Washington of Jacksonville, two grandsons, Travis Washington Jr. and Akeem Washington, three granddaughters, Destiny Lea, Kyrra Gaines, and Cherisa Washington and one great-granddaughter Jayde Gaines, two sisters Sarah Cleveland of Pittsburgh, Pa., Shirley (Richard) Lindsey of North Little Rock, God-daughter, Evelyn Collins of Lonoke, sisters-in law, Alma Washington and Emma Curlett of Carlisle, Florence Curlett of Hazen, Elizabeth (Leonard) Gerren and Marie Crowder of Dayton, Ohio. Brother-in-laws Robert Curlett of Hazen, John L. (Norma) Curlett of Conway, Ark. and Darrell Penn of Jacksonville and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be Monday July 1 at 11 a.m. at The Historic Revelation COGIC in Carlisle with viewing 1 hour prior to service and interment at Carlisle Cemetery.
