Kermit Braxton Garriss

Kermit Braxton Garriss, 77, of Fayetteville, died on June 20, 2019 after a 14-year battle with Alzheimer's. Braxton attended The College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia and went on to serve as LT JG in the Navy onboard the USS Arcturus during Vietnam. He attended Richmond Union Theological Seminary graduating with a Masters of Divinity. He also earned an RN degree from U of A. Braxton was a Presbyterian pastor serving churches in Arkansas, West Virginia, and Virginia. He worked as campus minister at the U of A United Campus Ministry for several years and as a Home Health nurse. Service at St. Paul's Episcopal Church at 11 a.m. July 16. Interment of ashes at 10 a.m. July 17 at the Fayetteville National Cemetery. Please send memorials to the Alzheimer's Association. Online condolences www.WestfieldChapel.com.
