Velma Lee Mays, age 85, of Sweet Home,Arkansas, departed this life on June 20, 2019. She is preceded in death by her parents: Willie and Essie Mae Scott Griffin, her husband Homer Mays, sister Jerry Ann Mereriweather, and daughter, Jeanette Wilson. She leaves to cherished her memory her children, James Wilson (Deborah) and Estella Wiley (Artis), her step-children, Ann Green, Emma Montgomery, Rose Foster, Jim, Mack, Thurman, Maurice, Homer Jr, and Leonard Mays. Her siblings, Wilbur Gean Franklin of Indianapolis, IN and Malous G. Hasson (Nettie Orients) of College Station,Arkansas. Her eight grandchildren and 9 Great grandchildren. Also a host of other very dear relatives and friends.
A celebration of her life will be Saturday, July 6th, 10 a.m. Visitation, 11 a.m. service at First Baptist Church, Sweet Home, Arkansas and graveside service at Elmlawn Cemetery with Rev. Michael Jenkins, Jr. officiating.
