Merle Wayne Lunning

Merle Wayne Lunning, 70, of Rogers, Ark., died suddenly Monday, February 25, 2019, at his residence in Rogers. He was born September 4, 1948 in Mason City, Iowa to Alvin and Arlene (Anderson) Lunning. He was a former steel worker and was proud that he helped build the Mall of America. After moving to Rogers, he worked in construction for several local builders. Merle was an industrious, hard worker and in spite of almost losing total sight many years ago and being legally blind, he continued to work and be very active. He enjoyed league bowling at the Rogers Bowling Center and was a volunteer at many local charity's that offered help to the community. Merle will be remembered as an encourager of others and someone that never complained or spoke a negative word. He was preceded in death by his parents. Merle is survived by his wife, Deb Lunning; children, Troy Lunning, Shelby Connell (Tim), Byron Lunning; one brother, Myron Lunning (Marianne); three grandchildren, Alex, Lexie and Trinity, and many, many friends. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services in Rogers. Memories may be shared at Stockdale-Moodyfs.com.
