John Herbert Ashcraft of Prattsville, Arkansas was born December 8, 1933 in Prattsville, the son of the late James M. and Cozy Anna Pumphrey Ashcraft. He was an active member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville, and was a retired Supervisor for International Paper Company. He was devoted to his wife of 45 years, Carolyn, who died January 17, 2019 and to his son, granddaughter and great granddaughters, as well as his church, community and friends. John enjoyed playing the piano and guitar as well as singing and fellowshipping at the Harrington's on Friday nights with his friends. Mr. Ashcraft died Monday, March 4, 2019 at HSC Medical Center in Malvern at the age of 85. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Halbert Ashcraft, brothers, George Ashcraft, Alanby Ashcraft;sisters, Joanna Bryant and Edna Allison. Survivors: son, John Randall Ashcraft of North Richland Hills, Texas; granddaughter, Haley Smith and great granddaughters, Olivia and Cadence of Arlington, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville with Bro. Pat Greer officiating. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. Memorials may be made to Harmony Missionary Baptist Church, P.O.
