Joyce Pickens Branscome

Joyce Pickens Branscome of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, went home to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, March 3, 2019, at the age of 83. She was born January 18, 1936 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to Lucille and E.E. "Hank" Pickens. After graduating from Little Rock High School in 1953, she attended Abilene Christian College in Abilene, Texas, where she met her husband of over 40 years, Bruce Branscome. As a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, she and Bruce raised their family at Sixth & Izard Church of Christ in Little Rock. When she moved to Hot Springs Village she attended Village United Methodist Church where she was active in the choir and bells. She will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, infectious laugh, quick wit and sense of humor. She loved many things, but she especially loved God, her family, and her many lifelong friends. Our world is a better place because Joyce lived. The family wishes to give special thanks to the care givers at Good Samaritan Society and Hospice of Central Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucille and E.E. Pickens, her husband, Bruce H. Branscome, Jr., and her sister and brother-in-law, Jeanette and Gerald Wilson. Survivors include her children, Kim and Sidney Banz of Allen, Texas, Kathy and Keith Engelbrecht of Highland Village, Texas, Bob Branscome of Dallas, Texas, and Jan and Steve Collier of Frisco, Texas; four grandchildren, Keegan and Christie Engelbrecht of Walnut Creek, California, Kevin Engelbrecht of Dallas, Cori Collier of Frisco, and Cole Collier of Frisco. Services will be Monday, March 11, at 11:30 a.m. at Village United Methodist Church in Hot Springs Village with burial at Rest Hills Memorial Park in North Little Rock. Visitation will be Sunday, March 10, from 3-5 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home in North Little Rock. Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Society at www.good-sam.com.
