Emogene Slaten McKee

Emogene Slaten McKee, age 94, a resident of Butterfield Trail Village, previously of Farmington, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was born January 12, 1925 in Washington County, the daughter of Columbus Wesley and Julia Maxine (Shumate) Slaten. Emogene was a loving wife to her husband Gene. She was a friend to everyone she met and loved by many. She enjoyed doing china painting, sewing, knitting, embroidery and quilting,. Her favorite past time was working puzzles. She was preceded in death by her sister Ora Giles. Survivors include her husband of over 72 years Willard Gene McKee and many family and friends. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 12, 2019, 10-11 a.m. at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove with funeral service to begin at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Farmington Cemetery in Farmington, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be: Jason Dougan, Chris Giles, Cody Standbridge, Phillip Stewart, Austin Urwiler and Michael "Mick" Urwiler. Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
