Jack Drake

Garlen Jackson "Jack" Drake, 92, of Rogers, Arkansas went to his eternal home in Heaven with Christ, March 6, 2019 after a brief illness. He was born September 3, 1926 in Brea, California to Bill Drake and Carrie Glenn Drake. Jack graduated from Elkins High School and then entered the Navy where he served in World War II aboard the USS Ferguson APA-82 in the South Pacific. After his service, he attended the University of Arkansas for 2 years. He married Phairzetta Wright on July 10, 1953 in Festus, Mo. He retired from Southwestern Bell in 1984 where he held several positions during his more than 30 year career. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Rogers, Ark. for the past 36 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Carl Drake. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Zetta Drake: One son, Bradford Drake and wife Julie of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; Two daughters, Tracey Drake of Evans, Georgia and Carrie Howrey and husband Mike of Rogers, Arkansas; Four grandchildren: Andrew Drake and wife Brooke, Zachary Drake and wife Emilee, Drake Howrey and Loren Howrey; One great grandchild: Shiloh Drake. Graveside service will be 2 p.m., Friday, March 8th at Drakes Creek Cemetery where Jack spent a great deal of time recording and photographing every gravestone.
