Beatrice "Bea" Mazzanti, age 89, of Lake Village died Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Chicot Memorial Medical Center in Lake Village, Ark. Beatrice was born May 9, 1929 in Portland, Ark. She is the daughter of the late Simon Peoples and Lydia (Estes) Peoples Hackett. She worked for 58 years as a Registered Nurse, originally for Lake Village Infirmary which later become Chicot Memorial Medical Center before retiring. Bea was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and Our Lady of the Lake Altar Society.
Preceded in death by her fathers, Simon Peoples and Dave Hackett, mother, Lydia Peoples Hackett, brothers, Cecil and Noble Peoples, and 4 sisters, Frances Wilson, Estelle Crawford, Mary Breedlove, and Lucille Peoples. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Joseph B. Mazzanti, one son; Mike Mazzanti of Fort Worth, Texas, two sisters, Vaughta Glover of McGehee, Ark. and Sylvia Pierce of Hamburg, Ark., and a brother; Henry Dave Hackett of Dermott, Ark.; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 10 from 5-6 p.m. with Rosary at 6 p.m. at Bishop-King Funeral Home Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 11 at Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church, 314 South Lakeshore, Lake Village, Ark. with Father Steven Hart as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Isidore Cemetery in Lake Village. Arrangements are by Bishop-King Funeral Home of Lake Village, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Portland Cemetery, P.O.
