Martha Nell Ellis Edwards

Martha Nell Ellis Edwards, 95, of Hot Springs died Thursday, March 7, 2019. She was born September 3, 1923 in Pocahontas to the late Frank and Winnie James Ellis. She was a Registered Nurse and retired as Director of Nursing from Oakdale Nursing Home, Judsonia, Arkansas. Martha was of the Baptist faith and was, for many years, a member of First Baptist churches of Judsonia and Little Rock. She moved to Texas for several years, and recently returned to her beloved Arkansas with her family. Known by many as "Mama E," she served her Lord by loving all, and will be remembered by her immediate family, nieces and nephews, and the hosts of those she touched. She is survived by her only son, David Edwards (Annette); two grandchildren, Turner and Daniel Edwards (Brittney); one great-grandchild, Nora Edwards; two Brothers, Frank and Dan Ellis; and two sisters, Fern Coonce and Louise Simpson. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Edwards; and siblings, Percy and Russell Ellis, Ann Wallace, Fannie Broadway, and Mary Simpson. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday with interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery of Judsonia.
