Mary Ellen Deckard

Mary Ellen Deckard, 87, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, died Friday, March 1, 2019, at Crestview Court Nursing Home in Cedar Hill, Texas. She was born June 11, 1931 at Bentonville, Arkansas. She was raised by her father, Noble B Jones and May in Bentonville and her mother, Velma E Dale and Glenn in Herington, Kansas. She attended schools in Bentonville and Herington and graduated from Herington High School in 1950. Mary married Doyle Deckard in 1951 (divorced in 1977) and had two children, Kris and Roger. She worked in many areas over her lifetime; retail, candidate for school board, bookkeeper, apartment manager and anything else she put her mind to do. She retired from apartment management in Houston, Texas in 1997 and moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, stepparents, son, Roger Deckard, son-in-law, Mike Denlinger, and brothers, Bobby Dale and Glenn Dale. She is survived by daughter, Kris Denlinger of Cedar Hill, Texas; seven grandchildren, Valorie Kleinberg and husband Jon of Eaton, Ohio, Scott, Whitney and Tina Denlinger, of Cedar Hill, Texas, Dustin and Kathy Deckard of Wichita, Kansas, Paul Deckard of Falmouth, Kentucky; two great grandchildren, Karley and Luke Kleinberg of Eaton, Ohio; sister Ruth and husband Jerry Cozad of Bella Vista, Arkansas as well as many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed many crafts, handwork (especially sewing), and has given many handmade gifts to those for whom she cared. Mary made an impact with those she came in contact and will be missed by many.
