Donald Lee Sims, age 63, of Kingsland, Ark., departed this earth for Heaven on March 14, 2019. Donald leaves behind his wife and best friend of 42 years, Donna. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Donaven and Abby of Alexander, Ark., and Derrick and Alaina of New Zealand; sister and brother-in-law, Kathy Wylie and James of Norphlet. He also leaves behind five special grandchildren who knew him as Papaw; Carter, Claire, Caroline, Isla, and Iden. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Harold Dean and Mary Frances Sims. Donald's life was defined by two things, his faith in Jesus Christ, who he accepted as his Savior in the summer of 1967, and his love of his family. Donald was a member of Kingsland Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher for many years. He loved deer hunting with his family and going to watch the Razorbacks and St. Louis Cardinals play baseball. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday March 17, 2019 at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday March 18, 2019 at Kingsland Missionary Baptist Church in Kingsland, Ark. Burial will be in Crossroads Cemetery in the Crossroad community just north of Kingsland. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
