HOMER ALLEN HOLBROOK, 89, of Little Rock, received his heavenly reward on March 13, 2019. He was born in Perry, Arkansas to Homer Cavanaugh Holbrook and Pearlie Allen Poe Holbrook on July 23, 1929, the youngest of 4 children. Homer served the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Salisbury Sound in the Pacific during the Korean Conflict. Homer met the love of his life, Alma Jane Otwell, on a blind date. They were married December 5, 1964 at First United Methodist Church in downtown Little Rock. He received his accounting degree from UALR in 1972. Together they created their own business, Homer Holbrook Accounting, in Little Rock, where he served his clients for 41 years. Homer and Alma enjoyed theater, music, extensive travels around the world, and fellowship with their many friends. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Little Rock for 62 years. Homer and Alma met many of their dearest and closest friends in the Koinonia Sunday School Class, of which they were members for more than 50 years. Homer was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Arthur Holbrook and Ralph Holbrook, sister, Pauline Holbrook Burmeister, and his faithful little dog Ziggy. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Alma Otwell Holbrook, and a host of family and friends. A tribute to Homer's life will be held on Monday, March 18, 2019 at First United Methodist Church, 723 Center Street, Little Rock, Arkansas. The interment service will be at 1 p.m. in the Columbarium Garden, followed by a Memorial service at 2 p.m. in the Sanctuary. The Memorial service will be officiated by Reverend Ed Matthews and Reverend Don Nolley.
