Mary Caroline Henson

MARY CAROLINE HENSON, 83, peacefully passed away Friday afternoon, March 15, 2019, surrounded by family and friends. Caroline was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Little Rock. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, his parents Thelma and John Henson, her parents, Alta and Perry Harrison, a grandson, Matthew Henson, a sister Patty Reisemann, and a brother Buddy. She leaves behind her son and his wife, Dean and Susan; grandson, Thomas; and sisters, Barbara Jean (Odis) Waymack, Raynelle (Don, deceased) Watkins, and Joan (Carroll) Allen; and many cousins and friends. In 1995 she dreamed of having an annual family reunion, Cousin's Day. The family has been getting together for Cousin's Day at Barbara Jeans and Odis' in May ever since. Mary loved to cook, especially baking cakes for her family member's birthdays. She was well known for her potato salad and her spiced nuts at Christmas were a treat. She retired from AT&T after a long career. Caroline was an artist using pen, ink and pencil. She was a weaver and worked with ceramics. She loved to garden, raising bulbs, perennials, herbs, and vegetables. She can now garden in heaven with her mother and grandmother. Caroline was an accomplished seamstress and could sew curtains, clothing, and most anything else. Visitation will be Monday, March 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. and funeral service on Tuesday, March 19, at 2:30 p.m., both at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills in North Little Rock.
