Walter Eugene Hoskins

Walter Eugene Hoskins, 92, passed away on March 15, 2019, in Rogers. He was born on October 29, 1926, in Altamont, Mo., to the late Alfred and Martha (Booher) Hoskins. He was the husband of Margery (Phipps) for almost 70 years. Walter was a Navy Veteran and served during WWII. He was a printer throughout most of his career with Wallace Farmers Magazine in Des Moines, Iowa. He was a Ham Radio expert and made friends from all over the world. He received many letters from them that he considered treasures. He also enjoyed working with computers when they became available. He and Margery retired to Rogers in 1992 from Des Moines, where he was a member of the First Assembly of God Church. Most importantly he loved his family and spending time with them. He will be truly missed by them all. Walter was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Alfred Hoskins, Jr., Winton Hoskins, Robert Hoskins, and James Hoskins; grandson, Jason David Brewer; and great-granddaughter, Everlee Grace Brewer. He is survived by his wife of Rogers; daughter, Renee Brewer (Dave); grandchildren, David Brewer (Meredith), Jonathan Brewer (Danielle), Shelby Brewer, Kathie Cloe (Joseph), and Tina Schlitter; and 9 great-grandchildren. A graveside funeral will be held March 19, 2019, at 1 p.m. in Pinnacle Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the NWA Children's Hospital.
