William Verl Thompson Sr.

William Verl Thompson Sr., 66, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away March 13, 2019. He was born August 1, 1952, in Caldwell, Kansas, to Fred and Virginia (Teeter) Thompson. William attended the University of Kansas where he received a Bachelors Degree in Physical Therapy. He was an avid Kansas Jayhawks basketball fan. William was a loving father and spent many years coaching his children's sports teams. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his loving wife of 20 years, Betty Thompson; sons, William V. Thompson Jr. (Taylor), Adam Thompson (Ashley); step-daughter, Stephanie Shaw (Aaron); brother, Rick Thompson; sisters, Pegge Thompson, Patti Thompson Reimer; grandchildren, Peyton, Tripp, Adaley, and Zachary and Krystal Evans Tanner; great-grandchildren, Bryce and Brady. A celebration of William's life will be 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.
