"Jake" J.C. Hugh Milligan, Sr., 78, of Austin died Saturday, March 16, 2019 at his home. He was born June 19, 1940 to the late Artemis Dudley and Canna Magdelene Hoggard Milligan. In addition to his parents, Mr. Milligan was preceded in death by his brother, Glenn Milligan. Jake was a successful business owner. He opened ATR Transmissions in Little Rock in 1974 and retired after 45 years of award-winning service with an impeccable reputation. Some of his clients included the Arkansas State Police and Game and Fish Commission. He was known for his work ethic and unfailing honesty. He was an avid hot rod enthusiast, which included building, owning and operating all types of race cars. In retirement, he enjoyed cooking, restoring vintage cars, spending time with family at the lake, gardening, wood-working and traveling with his wife, Diane. He will be remembered as a devoted, cherished father, a proud grandfather, and a follower of Christ. Mr. Milligan is survived by his wife Diane Purtle Milligan; children, J.C. Milligan, Jr. (Diana), Amanda Elmore (Brian), Wendy Perrin (Kenny), Tonya Baker and Jerena Williams; grandchildren, Jayla, Jayme, Ashley, Amber, Kailey, Shelby-Canna, Gracie, Hunter and Katie; sister, Karen Ditto (Jerry), numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his dog, Penny, who was his constant companion. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2019 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at McArthur Assembly of God Church in Jacksonville with Pastor Travis Matthews officiating.
