Vernon Clinton "Jake" Donley

Vernon Clinton "Jake" Donley, 85, of McGehee, Arkansas passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019. Jake was born on August 22, 1933 in Kelso, Arkansas to the late Martin Donley and Mattie Timmons Donley. He served in the United States Army National Guard. Jake was a long time employee for Celanese Chemical Company. He enjoyed working and was very active. Jake owned several rental properties and grocery stores. He loved to help people. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings. Survivors include his sons, Ronnie (Traci) Donley of Manville, Texas, Donnie (Debbie) Donley of Coweta, Okla. and Billy Donley of The Woodlands, Texas; daughters, Nonie (Bill) Shelton of La Porte, Texas and Jeannie (Danny) Earp of La Porte, Texas; grandchildren, Landon Donley, Travis Earp, Katelyn Donley, Jake Donley, Jason Donley, Priscilla Abbott, Devin Donley, Toeper Magby, Jerard Magby and Samantha Freeman; great-grandchildren, Julia Earp, Ryan Earp, Joei Scheffler, Mackenzie Childers, Carver Donley, Haley Magby, Collin Magby, Ella Magby and Mia Palmer, Maddie Palmer and Noah Palmer. Numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Landon Donley, Ronnie Donley, Travis Earp, Danny Earp, Jake Donley and Billy Donley. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Shelton, Jason Donley, Devin Donley and Donnie Donley. Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, Ark. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. John Carter officiating. Burial will be at Kelso Cemetery in Kelso, Ark.
