Bro. Ealgie Gilbert Sr. was born in Allport, Ark. He was in the ministry for over 64 years. He was baptized August of 1950 at Gum Street Church of Christ in North Little Rock, Ark. His ministry journey began in 1951 serving congregations in Cotton Plant, Ark.; England, Ark.; and Russellville, Ark. During this time, Ealgie had a successful career of nearly two decades with the 3M Company in Little Rock. He also established ministry work at the following churches: Dixie Church of Christ in North Little Rock, Ark.; Sweet Home Church of Christ in Sweet Home, Ark.; College Heights Church of Christ in Pine Bluff, Ark.; East Side Church of Christ in Little Rock, AR; and East Moline Church of Christ in Malvern, Ark. He held gospel meetings in many parts of the country. He worked as an evangelist during the earlier part of his ministry while working with 3 other congregations on a part time basis. Throughout his ministry, he has preached the gospel to many and baptized hundreds into the faith. Ealgie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He loved to preach, cook, garden, hunt, and fish. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Jerome (Sally) Gilbert of nearly 69 years, seven children, 45 grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren.
