Lisa Gail Casteel, age 56, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 18, 2019 at her home in Gurdon. She was the beloved daughter of Johnnie and Margaret Casteel. She moved extensively with her military family and was a 1980 graduate of Rantoul High School in Rantoul, Illinois. After joining the US Air Force, she served in assignments at Lowry AFB, Colorado; Offutt AFB, Nebraska; Spangdahlem AFB, Germany; Altus AFB, Oklahoma; Eglin AFB, Florida and Columbus AFB, Mississippi with deployments to Vincenza, Italy; Qatar; and Osan AFB Korea. She retired from the Air Force in 2010 and after completing her degree, she joined the Clark County Prosecuting Attorney's Office in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. It was here she brought her experience and passion to bear as a domestic abuse coordinator. Lisa was the proud mother of Jordan (wife Darla) and loving grandmother of Dulce, Nina, Perla and Ayanna. She is also survived by her mother, Margaret; her brother, Gary Casteel (wife Deborah); and nieces, a nephew, an uncle, an aunt and cousins. She is preceded in death by her father, Johnnie. Lisa was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Gurdon. Family, friends, and others whose lives Lisa touched are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, 23 March 2019 at 10 a.m. at Center Grove Methodist Church in Gurdon to reminisce, grieve and support each other.
