Thomas Edward Batie

Dr. Thomas "Tom" Edward Batie of Springdale went to be with the Lord on March 20, 2019. He was born on October 6, 1943, in Detroit, Mich., to the late William Harold and Margaret Barnum Batie. Tom worked as a pharmacist for Ivan Rose at Rogers Pharmacy from 1970 until he opened his own business, Medical Arts Pharmacy, in 1977, where he worked until its close in 1983. He then owned Ozarks Software System from 1984 until 1993. Tom will be remembered as an active member of his community. He volunteered at the Arkansas Crisis Center, was a Boy Scout leader in the 1980s, and served 3 terms on the Rogers City Council. He served as Secretary-Treasurer and President of the Arkansas Pharmacists Association in 1975 and 1977, respectively. Tom had a love of flying and all things aviation. He leaves behind many friends and family who will miss his humor, love, and kindness. His survivors include his loving wife of 26 years, Connie; sons, Gregory Thomas Batie of Rogers, Douglas Adam Batie and wife Jennifer of Bentonville; stepdaughters, Tonya Beckwith and husband Shawn of Rogers, Christy Lemke of Springdale; grandchildren, Lilee Beckwith, Dylan Beckwith, Jack Brown, Tristan Batie, Piper Batie; brother, Fred Batie and wife Marilyn; and sister, Gretchen Batie Teeter. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Arkansas Crisis Center, the American Heart Association, or the American Lung Association.
