Flora (Vest) Breckenridge, 99, a resident of Paris, formerly of Lake Village, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019, at the Greenhurst Nursing Center in Charleston. She was born January 8, 1920, in Atkins, Arkansas to the late Robert Lee and Ruthie Alice (Lynch) Vest. During the 1940's Flora worked as a public school teacher. She taught at various school districts including Springdale, Atkins and Star City. Flora also spent two summers working in war plants in Jacksonville, Arkansas and Baltimore, Maryland during World War II. She enjoyed traveling out west with her husband and she had the opportunity to visit the Holy Land with her sister, Leona. She was a member of Lake Village Baptist Church in Lake Village where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Thomas Berry Breckenridge; a daughter, Cathy Jennings, five brothers, Elmer, Forest, Raymond, Rayburn and R.L. Vest Jr. and three sisters, Irma Hatcher, Pearl Austin and Leona Keener. Survivors include her two sons, Don Breckenridge of Sherwood and Glen Breckenridge and wife, Wanda of Ozark; a son-in-law, Jack Jennings of Mountain Home; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at the Roller Funeral Home in Paris. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 28, 2019, at the Blasingame Cemetery near El Paso, Arkansas. Burial will follow under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.
