Jimmy Nolan "Jim" McKnight

West Fork, AR, 1935 - 2019

Jimmy Nolan "Jim" McKnight of West Fork passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 28, 2019, at the age of 83. He was born in West Fork, Ark., on April 13, 1935, to Thomas Lester and Dollie M. (Webster) McKnight. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patricia Gentry of Tulsa, Okla.; sister, Mildred Earp of West Fork; and sons, Joe and Mark McKnight of West Fork.
Jim McKnight was the owner of McKnight's Emergency Wrecker Service in West Fork until retirement. He was the mayor of West Fork from 1965-1974. He was instrumental in establishing the West Fork Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the West Fork Presbyterian Church for 65 years, then joining Zinnamon Church for the last nine years. He was a devout Christian that dedicated himself to serving his family, friends, and community. His positive outlook and outgoing personality made it seem as though he never met a stranger.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Kay McKnight; son, Matt McKnight; daughter, Griffin McKnight; daughter, Mary Thoma and husband Joe of Siloam Springs; daughter, Betsy Pugh and husband Michael of Fayetteville; son, Tom McKnight and wife Dena of West Fork; and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 10 – 11 a.m. on Monday, April 1, 2019, at First Baptist Church at 246 N. Centennial Ave, West Fork, AR 72774, with a funeral service held at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at West Fork Cemetery.
