Lesly Marilyn "Marilyn" Rust, 95, of Springdale passed away Friday, March 29, 2019. She was born June 9, 1923, in Osceola County, Iowa, to the late Lesly and Orpha Weatherwax Engel. Mrs. Rust was also preceded by her husband of more than 73 years, Kenneth Rust; a granddaughter, Melody Rust; a grandson, Kenneth Nelson; 2 sisters and 3 brothers. Her family will always remember her as the "Ideal Mom," who was a great cook, talented artist, seamstress, writer of poetry, 4-H leader and Sunday school teacher. Marilyn was a lifelong Presbyterian, an Elder and member of First Presbyterian Church in Rogers. She and her husband retired from farming and moved to Northwest Arkansas in 1980. Survivors include her daughter, Christine Morrison (Randy) of Fayetteville; 4 sons, Randy Rust (Barbara) of Berryville, Alan Rust (Karla Gedell) of Minnesota, Doug Rust (Tina) of Rogers and Steve Rust (Suzanne) of Farmington; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Arlene Bakalyer (Carl) of Minnesota; a brother, Larry Engel (Gloria) of South Dakota; many extended family members and dear friends. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, April 1, in the Chapel of Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. Following a private, family interment in Fayetteville National Cemetery, her Memorial Service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday April 2, 2019, at First Presbyterian Church of Rogers.
