Dr. Ronnie James (R.J.) Holland, 33, of Austin, Ark. passed away tragically in a car accident on Friday, April 26, 2019 in Hurricane Mills, Tenn. He was born February 5, 1986 in North Little Rock to Ronnie and Jackie Holland. R.J. graduated from Cabot High School with High Honors, received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Arkansas, Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Tennessee and completed his residency in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Buffalo, School of Dental Medicine in Buffalo, New York. After completing his pediatric residency, R.J. returned to Arkansas and worked at Leap Kids dental office in Cabot and just recently transferred to the Leap Kids office in Jonesboro. R.J. loved his work as a pediatric dentist. He was kind, caring, compassionate and loved working with children. He had a love for music, traveling and hiking. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bud Holland; grandparents, Audrey and George Travis, Fred and Martha Mulkey; uncle, Greg Holland; aunt, Freddie Hankins. R.J. is survived by his parents, Ronnie and Jackie Holland of Austin, Ark.; one brother, Joseph Holland who is currently stationed in South Korea; grandmother, Sammie Holland of Cabot; great-grandmother, Mary Freeman of Quitman; special friend, Nia Zacharia and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Memorial services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, May 2, 2019 at McArthur Church in Jacksonville. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
