Gilbert Earl (Buck) Johnson

Gilbert Earl "Buck" Johnson, 88, of Lonoke, went to be with his wife on April 29, 2019. He was born February 17, 1931 in the Saginaw Community, near Malvern, to the late William L. Johnson and Dixie Patrick Johnson Crook. "Buck" was the owner of Buck's Radiator Shop in North Little Rock for many years. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp and was a veteran of the Korean War, serving on the U.S.S. Eldorado. He was a former member of the Fraternal Order of the Elks and the Fraternal Order of the Police. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-four years, Rosemary; two sisters, Maxine Reed and Evelyn Spurlin and his grandson-in-law, T.L. Osburn. Survivors include his four children, Gilbert D. Johnson (Marybeth), Malinda Powell (Steve), Carmella Patterson and Kirk Johnson (Patty); thirteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren and another one on the way. A private family viewing will be Thursday, May 2, 2019 from 10-10:30 a.m. at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home. Public visitation with the family will be from 10:30-11 a.m.and funeral services will be 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Arkansas Memorial Gardens in North Little Rock. The family suggests memorials be made in the name of Gilbert "Buck" Johnson to Alzheimer's Foundation at 225 North Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, Illinois 60601. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the care, kindness and love that was extended to "Buck" at Lonoke Health and Rehabilitation Center and Hospice Home Care.
