Melba Jean Dillon, 79, of Sherwood passed from this life on Monday, April 29, 2019. She was born Tuesday, January 23, 1940 in Natchitouches, Louisiana to the late J.C. and Pearl Troquille Wilkerson. Mrs. Dillon was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and was of the Methodist Faith. She enjoyed crafting, sewing and interior design but found her greatest joy in her family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by siblings, Linda Streeter and Charlotte Wilkerson. Survivors include her loving husband of 58 years, John Dillon; children, John F. (Tammy) Barbo of Cabot, Melissa Dillon-Bounds of Nashville, Tennessee.; grandchildren, Bruce (Krystn) Dillon of Cabot, Logan Schulz and Rani Bounds both of Nashville, Tennessee. Other survivors include siblings, Glenda (Dale) Wolfe of Tonganoxie, Kansas, Joe Vercher of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Jimmy Fletcher of Texarkana, Texas; along with a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
