Dorthea Mae Swanigan, 81, of DeValls Buff passed away Thursday April 25. She was born in Brinkley, Ark. to the late Joe Nathan and Earnestine Flowers. Dorthea was a retired seamstress and member of Mt. Olive MBC Devalls Bluff.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Lee Andrew and Patrick Swanigan, three brothers and two sisters. Left to mourn her passing are two sons Antonio Swanigan, Albert Swanigan and two daughters Ople Allen, Cathy Brooks, four sisters, Otherine Bembry, Arlie Breedlove, Myrtis Scott and Bessie Davis, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday May 4 at 11 a.m. at Mt Olive MBC Devalls Bluff, visitation will be one hour prior to service with interment at Oakland Cemetery. Entrusted to Colonial Southern Services 216 Court St. Carlisle, Ark. 870 552 1238. "Excellent Service is a Southern Tradition."
