Bobby Joe Roberts, age 90, of Springdale, Arkansas, passed away April 28, 2019 in Clarksville, Tennessee. He was born August 26, 1928 at Oologah, Oklahoma to Commodore and Isabel Roberts. Bob was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springdale. He served in the Navy in WWII and in the Korean War. He was in four campaigns in WWII and had three deployments in Korea including one in Inchon. He retired from Lee Paper Company in Oakland, California before moving to Arkansas. He later retired from the Pepsi Company in Springdale, Arkansas.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, Cora Rogers, Lucille Rogers, Ada Derrickson, and Pauline Ridenour and three brothers, Bill Roberts, Walter Roberts, and Ed Roberts. He is survived by his wife Amelia Roberts of Clarksville, Tennessee, three sons, Bob Roberts and wife Jan of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Earl Roberts of Riverside, California, and Jimmy Roberts and wife Oksun of Woodlawn, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Bobby Roberts, Jim Roberts, Vanessa Roberts, and Sophia Roberts, and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial Mass will be at St Raphael's Catholic Church in Springdale, Arkansas on May 13th at 10 a.m. Father John Connell will be officiating. Burial service will be at the National Cemetery on May 13th at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Raphael's Church at 1386 S W End St., Springdale, Arkansas 72762.
