ALICE LANG HALL, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, died and crossed over into the arms of Jesus on May 4, 2019. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hess Booth Hall and her parents, Arthur O. and Catherine Cannon Fisher. Alice Lang and Hess were married for 63 years and together they raised three children: Wes Hall (Sue Ann), Cathy Hall, and Hess B. "Doc" Hall, Jr. (Karen). She is also survived by six grandchildren: Corey Bacon, Barry Hall, Drew Bacon Benham, Brad Hall, Jacob Hall, Mariela Hall, and five great-grandchildren: Abby Hall, Hudson Hall, Fox Benham, Elliot Benham, and Priscilla Santos. Born in Greenville, South Carolina in 1932, Alice Lang spent most of her formative years in Thomasville, Georgia. Blessed with a beautiful voice and a gift for music, she attended Cincinnati Conservatory of Music where she met and fell in love with Hess. After graduation, they moved to east Arkansas. During the family's Delta years, as well as the years they lived in Little Rock and Heber Springs, Alice Lang was a faithful United Methodist. She was a longtime member of the United Methodist Women, where she held several local and district offices, and participated in and directed church choirs in Arkansas, Georgia and Florida. A celebration of Alice Lang's life will be held at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 2223 Durwood Road in Little Rock at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2019. The family will receive friends after the service. Interment will be at Crittenden Memorial Cemetery in Marion, Arkansas on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church.
