Anita Maguire

Anita L. Maguire, 95, of Hot Springs, Arkansas passed away Friday, May 10th, 2019 in Fayetteville, Arkansas surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 4th, 1923 in Puerto Rico to Vicente and Louisa Santos. Anita had such a sweet and vibrant personality and was talented in so many ways. She loved painting, gardening and pottery. Anita's four children and grandchildren held her heart. Countless family memories were made on Lake Hamilton where she loved to entertain and partake in happy hour! Anita kept her fun loving spirit well into her later years. She cherished her time with the Garden Club, Elks Lodge, and the Ambassadors Dance Group. The Maguire's were long time members of St. Pius X Church in Dallas before moving to St. John's Catholic Church in Hot Springs. In addition to her parents , Anita is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, James Maguire and her siblings, Hilda Wayne, George Santos, and Jose Santos. Cherishing her memory are her children, Ann Edmondson (Steve), Colleen McCarthy (Mark), both of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Michael Maguire (Melanie) of Malibu, CA and Patricia Holt (Randy) of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Grandchildren include Jesse Edmondson of Fayetteville, AR, Alan Edmondson of Fayetteville, AR, Dustin and Jordan Holt of Fayetteville, Garrison Holt of Little Rock, Melissa McCarthy of Fayetteville, Moorea and Misha Maguire of Malibu, CA. In lieu of flowers please consider memorials to St. John's Catholic Church of Hot Springs or Willard Walker Hospice House of Fayetteville. The family wishes to thank the staff of Brookstone Assisted Living and Willard Walker Hospice House for all of the love and care received. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM, Monday, May 13th, 2019 with Fr. Michael Johns officiating at the Catholic Church of St. John the Baptist.
