Johnny Sheppard Maddox III
John "Johnny" Sheppard Maddox III, age 63, of Little Rock, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Mother's Day, May 12, 2019. He was born to the late John S. Maddox Jr. and Betty Biddy Maddox on July 18, 1955, in Nashville, Tenn. Johnny was a 1973 graduate of Little Rock Central High School. He attended UALR and was employed by Barrett Hamilton, Inc. which became Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits for 20 years. He was Trade Development Manager, along with being a certified wine and spirit specialist having received numerous awards and distinctions from vendors throughout his career. He was fondly referred to as " The Machine". With his love of learning, music, food, and drink, this position was a perfect fit.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his beloved children, Lilly and Graham, and their mother, Chaney Maddox all of Little Rock. He leaves behind three brothers, Scott (Anna Leigh), Randy (Cindi), and Richard (Jennifer) also all of Little Rock. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Peyton (Paige), Lindsey, Harrison, Patrick, Daniel, and Claire; and cousins Bonnie Jean Taylor and Deanna Davis; and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 18, at 11 a.m. The service will follow at 12 noon both at Ruebel Funeral Home, 6313 West Markham Street. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Pulaski County Humane Society or any other charitable organization would be appreciated. www,ruebelfuneralhome.com.
