Roy Gene Smith

Roy Gene Smith, 86, of Hensley passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019. He was born March 2, 1933 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Thomas and Alma Smith. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, James Michael Smith, and brothers, Thomas James Smith, Jr. and Robert Lee Smith. Roy is a veteran that served in the Army. He was a painter for most of his life and is a retired member of the 424 Local Painters Union. Survivors include his wife, Estella Smith; sons, Roy Lee Smith, Marvin James Smith, and Shon W. Smith; stepdaughter, Gale Richardson; granddaughter, Brittany Townsend; and great-grandson, Elijah Cotton Townsend. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2019 in the chapel of Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home (501-315-0700) at 6700 Alcoa Rd. in Benton, Arkansas. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, Arkansas. A time of visitation will be held an hour prior to the service, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the Funeral Home.
