Charles Lamar Babb, age 77, of Searcy, died Monday, May 27, 2019 in Searcy. He was born October 16, 1941 in Dalton, Georgia to Arvil William Babb and Travis Retha Chitwood Babb. Lamar worked many years in the textile industry and later had a wholesale/retail business selling and installing floor coverings.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda Babb; one daughter, Teena Barnette and husband Keith of Judsonia; one grandson, Josh Barnette and wife Amy of Judsonia; two great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn Barnette of Judsonia, Joshua Barnette of Judsonia; one brother, Marshall Babb and wife Glenda of Calhoun, Georgia; one sister, Rita Gray and husband Skip of Dalton, Georgia; one sister-in-law, Vickie Hughes and husband Don of Panama City Beach, Florida; one brother-in-law, Gary Wood and wife Marsha of Calhoun, Georgia; and several loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 30 from 10:30 a.m. until 12 noon at Powell Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday at 12 noon at Powell Funeral Home. Interment will be at Dug Gap Cemetery in Dalton, Georgia under the direction of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home. Arrangements by Powell Funeral Home of Searcy. www.powellfuneralhome.net.
